Travel prizes have been presented to three Quinta students at Gybon who will travel to the UK for a week in July with the aim of improving their speaking and listening skills in English
At a special ceremony at Gybon the prizes of 15,000 Kc were handed over to the winners Ondrej Malý who will be visiting London and Portsmouth and to Anna Bydžovská and Jana Zurynková who will travel together to Oxford and Cambridge
This is the fourth travel competition for Gybon students and this time Johana Macková, the first winner in 2012, was one of the judges. Johana has recently her own sports clothing shop ‘Uphill’ in Trutnov.
Lady Milena Grenfell-Baines, a Winton child who recently appeared in the film ‘One Life’, was also a judge and the competition was again organised at Gybon by Pavel Adámek of the English department
Julian Wilde, Chair of the Judges and former Head of King Edward and Queen Mary School in Lytham , was delighted with the high standard of the winning entries.
“Ondrej, Jana, and Anna produced very detailed and impressive plans for their travel and the judges are confident that they will improve their English by meeting and speaking many people during their week in the UK.”
